Unicode legt de betekenis van een teken vast, niet de tekening. Apple, Google, Microsoft en Samsung maken elk eigen illustraties, dus hetzelfde codepunt krijgt per apparaat een andere vorm.
Werkt kopiëren overal?
Het teken wordt als platte tekst gekopieerd en past dus in elke app die tekst accepteert. Ontbreekt daar het juiste lettertype, dan zie je een leeg vierkantje.
